Buffallo and Pipe Jewelry

White Buffalo Calf Woman brought the sacred pipe to the People, as one of the seven sacred rights. The Pipe is a way to create a connection with all our relations to the Great Spirit. Each pinch of tobacco or herbs, that is put into the Pipe, is offered up to all our relations so that their spirit form enters the Pipe. The sacred Pipe is laid upon the skull of Tatanka (buffalo) to honor the spirit of Buffalo who has given so much to the People. His hides for clothes, his flesh for food, his bones for tools, & his skull for ceremony. The buffalo symbolizes wisdom, abundance in life, and the ancestors. The Sacred Pipe has always been a symbol of peace, healing, & prayer. It is loaded and smoked during many ceremonies such as the Purification Lodge, Vision Quest, Sundance, and others.
